U S Open 9-Ball Footage on HBO's The Sopranos
Strickland plays Petroni for Crime Boss Tony Soprano

"Badda Boom Badda Bing" - A 5 minute segment from the 2003 U S Open 9-Ball Championship, produced by Billiard Club network and featuring Earl Strickland and Fabio Petroni, will appear in HBO's hit series The Sopranos, scheduled to air in May of 2004.

The footage is being used in a channel changing scene where Tony, the show's main character played by actor James Gandolfini, is trying to fix the remote for his TV and is testing it out while the U S Open match is on TV. Episode # 512 will air 12 weeks after the initial air date of the series, which is in its fifth season. Because the season is still months away from airing, more information will be available closer to air date.

for their TV appearances or is this a case where they signed away all rights without ever thinking of this?

Ummmm...I wasn't supposed to tell...but both players will receive $2 per time the segment is aired. Let's see...HBO will air Episode #512 appx. 8 times that week, between HBO and HBO2. Soooo, both players can probably retire on the residuals from this ONE episode in the final year of the series (which will no doubt run in perpetuity in reruns well into the 21st century!)...j/k

Hey Scott,
Maybe they will follow in your footsteps and give up any residuals and let it go for free, just to get mentioned on the CCB! /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif
