Happy Thanksgiving

'TWAS THE NIGHT OF THANKSGIVING AND I JUST COULDN'T SLEEP.
I TRIED COUNTING BACKWARDS, I TRIED COUNTING SHEEP.

THE LEFTOVERS BECKONED - THE DARK MEAT AND WHITE

BUT I FOUGHT THE TEMPTATION WITH ALL OF MY MIGHT.

TOSSING AND TURNING WITH ANTICIPATION
THE THOUGHT OF A SNACK BECAME INFATUATION.

SO I RACED TO THE KITCHEN, FLUNG OPEN THE DOOR
AND GAZED AT THE FRIDGE, FULL OF GOODIES GALORE.

I GOBBLED UP TURKEY AND BUTTERED POTATOES,
PICKLES AND CARROTS, BEANS AND TOMATOES.

I FELT MYSELF SWELLING SO PLUMP AND SO ROUND,
'TIL ALL OF A SUDDEN, I ROSE OFF THE GROUND.

I CRASHED THROUGH THE CEILING, FLOATING INTO THE SKY
WITH A MOUTHFUL OF PUDDING AND A HANDFUL OF PIE.

BUT, I MANAGED TO YELL AS I SOARED PAST THE TREES . . ..
"HAPPY EATING TO ALL - PASS THE CRANBERRIES, PLEASE."

MAY YOUR STUFFING BE TASTY, MAY YOUR TURKEY BE PLUMP,
MAY YOUR POTATOES 'N' GRAVY HAVE NARY A LUMP.

MAY YOUR YAMS BE DELICIOUS, MAY YOUR PIES TAKE THE PRIZE.
MAY YOUR THANKSGIVING DINNER STAY OFF OF YOUR THIGHS.

Will there be a continuation of the pool battle of the siblings? (How did that go? <font color="red">"kick his butt Auntie Barbara" </font color> ) /ccboard/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

We're headed to Pittsburgh. Kathy's nephew is an APA player. We're supposed to have a tournament at his place Friday and sample his home-made beer. Life is good.

Wally,
Have you seen the TV insurance commercial about 2 million people deep-fat-fried there Thanksgiving turkeys last year and 'only 15' of them managed to burn their houses down....I have a sick sence of humor as it makes me laugh.... /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Any of your local bars having evening pool events tomorrow? I know of two having a pool tourney and one having a 3ball tournament. $30/person for 10 rounds. Winner gets $200, 2nd $100. Good players. Score is usually right at 38-42 total. They usually have 2 or 3 tables doing this.

Oh excuuuuuse me!!! But somebody's pants are on fire!! And I hear a few plastic surgeons would have to give you an estimate by the foot on a nose job!

But hey, at least I'm not smoking anymore and that's what counts!

Wife got the rolls done. I finished the pies. Turkey goes in at 9:00 AM. Crab Rangoon goes in the fryer at 12:00PM.

Fred

BTW, in case anyone cares, I got one of those "commercial style" deep fryer for home. It's stainless steel, has a little basket, and has about a 2 quart capacity. I dont' recommend it for wet batter. The Fry Daddy keeps it's position.

Then I guess I am unpatriotic. Aside from the animal rights stuff with torture slaughter and inhumane breeding practices, aside from food safety issues where poultry is like eating a dirty toilet, aside from all that, turkey is just gross. If my grandfather came back from the dead and reopened his poultry store and hand picked a nice live turkey that could actually walk and breed and he slaughtered it humanely, dressed it right so it wasn't full of bacteria, had grandma cook it wonderfully, and put it on the table, it would still be disgusting dry nasty sh!t. Pass the liquor and apple pie please. Turkey is rancid. Thanksgiving the worst meal of the year. I take my Turkey in the wild liquid form from kentucky. /ccboard/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /ccboard/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Happy Thanksgiving all.

No, it's not a phobia. I have eaten plenty of turkey. But it is still nasty. So I have earned my disgust w/ turkey after eating my share of the filthy bird. Not this year though. Much better thanksgiving dinner w/out the bird. I had to carve the thing for other people who didn't want to do it though. I did make sure to wash my hands after hacking it to bits to be sure, but there was no phobia about it. /ccboard/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
