View Full Version : Predator Shaft - 314 vs Z

I'm getting the Predator 3K1 with the Moori Med. Tip. Only question is which shaft to opt for...

314 has a 12.75 (and yes I can grind it down but then it would be kind of whippy) while the Z has a much smaller (11.75 I believe) but it's not whippy because of its taper.

Anyways, for those who has one or the other, or has tried both, any opinions? Thanks a lot!

The Predator website says that turning the 314 shaft under 12.5 mm will void the warranty. Don't know if this is because the tip end is hollow or if glue lines may be exposed.

From what I heard, the Z is at about 11.75, but because it has a stronger taper, it won't be as whippy as the 314 if one were to cut it down to less then 12.25 (which is probably why the warranty would be void under 12.25 for the 314)
I'm just wondering which shaft to get... but I think I'll just opt for the 314 12.75 then.

That's 12.5 not 12.25 mm. Might not hurt to contact the predator people, I've found them to be quite helpful.

My 314's measure slightly under 12.7.
