Local Tournaments Question

Do you have any other formats that have been sucessful?

There are these tournaments that happen on a weekly basis in Cincinnati

Double Elimination
8 ball race to 3 race to 4 in an other pool hall
9 ball race to 3 winners, race to 2 one-loss bracket
8 and 9 ball alternating weeks, line tournament
Blind Draw partners 8 ball
Blind Draw partners 9 ball

Handicap Tournaments usually run from a high handicap of 5 to a low of 2.

NO Single Elimination tournaments at all

Monthly 9 ball tournaments 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Sunday of the month, all at different Pool Halls.

All DE and races to 5 in the winners race to 4 in the one loss bracket.

Weekly tournament entry fees range from $5 to $10 with green fees usually $3 on the $10 entry fee.

Number of players range from 12 to 32+ in almost all the tournaments.

Only one place has "Added" and for some reason, its still not drawing lots of players.

We have a local "9-ball Chip Tournament" at Speed's every Saturday. The format is a lot of fun but I couldn't even begin to tell you how it is operated. Ask Ward (a CCB lurker), he has been winning it for the past few weeks.

We also have a 9-ball tourney at Click's every Sunday. Race to 3 on the front; race to 2 on the back. Ward cleans up in that one too.
