WASHINGTON (AP) -- The recording industry has filed 41 more lawsuits against computer users in at least 11 U.S. states it said were caught illegally distributing songs over the Internet, continuing its aggressive campaign against online music piracy. <hr /></blockquote> Here is the article (http://www.cnn.com/2003/TECH/internet/12/04/downloading.music.ap/index.html) .

I would not call 41 out x million swappers aggresive. /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I've been slowly dumping my files for months. So far I've paired down about 25%.

I've never done anything for profit over the internet but I certainly wouldn't want to get nailed either.

Amen brother!!!!!!!!! /ccboard/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Errrrr.......I don't know what you're talking about. /ccboard/images/graemlins/blush.gif

The other thing I read in the article was that the music industry is blaming the internet for the 31% decrease in sales. How about this one, the music made today pretty much sucks!!!!!!!!! Put out a sucky product and people aren't gonna buy it, that simple.

I wonder this as well. When or if I ever get sued for the music I have will I be fined for already owning the CD as well? I've got every Metallica CD or tape ever made and I've got 15 or so songs downloaded. Do I still get sued? This is just plain silly.

Plus the fact they charge 17.98 for a CD that costs 3 cents to manufacture.

When they changed from vinyl to CD they raised the price by 2 or 3 bucks.

Wally~~noticed Accu-stats is doing the same thing

Deep breathes, clean thoughts, deep breathes, clean thoughts.....................................

Kato~~~will accept Voodoo's most recent barb as a friendly gesture.

PS. Someday when I'm someplace and Voodoo is someplace and there's a jukebox I'm playing 20 Metallica songs, just for him /ccboard/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

When I go to this poolhall in a redneck area that mostly had country playing all the time, I go put 3 bucks of Metallica playing. You can see and hear the cowboys getting pissed off from all the continuous metal banter. Nothing gets me playing like god faster that some good ol' One.

I was listening to them &lt;the REAL Metallica, ya know with Dave Mustaine?&gt; when you were drowning G.I. Joe's in your bathtub...They, IMO, they sold out after Cliff died. Anyway, it was and still is a stab in fun, BAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Voodoo~~~banged his head when it wasnt cool

Kato clears throat. Ahhhhemmmmm

I saw the REAL METALLICA live with Cliff Burton way back when. I'd like to tell you I was 13 at the time. Metallica has always been a hell of a road warrior band but since they suck now they can't have my bread. Back then they jammed big time.

Kato~~~Steve forgets he's only 6 years older than me sometimes /ccboard/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Hi Kato,

The music industry has made tons for yrs by song writers that put out an tape or cd with 2 good songs and the rest garbage. It's about time they give a little back. They could record cd's with songs at customer requests and sell that. I never bought a album, cd or tape where I liked every song. Maybe the closest was the Beatles. They had 4 or more #1 hits on most of their stuff back then. I was always into the underground stuff way back when.

Regards,

C.C.

Voodoo!! I am definitely in your corner about Metallica selling out after Cliff Burton's death. The vintage Metallica is the best. BTW I dont know what they was thinking with their most recent disc. It is absolutely horrible!!!!!!! I remember listening to Metallica before many had ever heard of them.

My buddy from Chicago used to tape stuff from Z-ROCK radio station and send it to me. They were mainly underground and very hard type music station.

I saw the video for St Angers (is that it?). I thought the song was horrible. It's like for years and years they've been playing slower, longer songs and now they decide to try that raw sound? No guitar solos? What a waste.

I'll take anything off of Metallica's first 3 albums and put 'em against anything ever written and sung.

Like Chris says though, "when was the last time...........". I remember buying Nickelback's cd a few years back. I loved 2 songs and the rest I couldn't care less for. These bands, they put out a song, it goes on Billboard, they make a video, sell some records, go on tour and they flat out suck!!!!!!!! They just have to take solace in knowing they're able to charge $30-$40 per show, $25 for a t-shirt, and $15 for a tour poster.

Kato~~~only goes to clubs now to see local bands. /ccboard/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

You local gas station may now offer prepaid Napster cards, allowing you to legally download 15 songs for only $14.95!

Here's the story (http://sanantonio.bizjournals.com/sanantonio/stories/2003/12/01/daily26.html)

I've seen the commercial. .99 per song.

Now it will cost me $18 to press my own cd's. Terrific. There is a better way, there's a guy on the CCB to show the way. He tried to help me one time but I managed to botch it up. I'll try again when I get high speed internet, it sucks on dial up.
