What Are The Rules For Three Ball?

I remember this was discussed at one time on the old board, but that is gone now. I happened to be talking with a pool player from Ontario the other day who likes to play multi-player three ball.

Does anybody play Three-Ball? What are the rules for this game? I suspect there are variations!?
