I wanted to know what are the BEST cue tips for breaking. Last night i took a chunk off my tip from a bad miscue so i wanted ur opinon so i can have something to base my options on.

A lot of people are using water buffaloes, some use phenolic tips. Typically, the harder the tip the better.

I personally use a phenolic resin tip and use a more controlled break and still get action from the rack.I've also heard moori has come out with a new power tip for breaking and jumping.Have yet to try one though.

Take a brown WB tip, and after install have it shortened to .150", quarter rounded. You'll like it, and it's fairly cheap. The brown WBs are harder than the blacks, but they will soften in hit if left much taller than my suggestion...sid
One-piece (non-layered) Water Buffalo or Triangle work just fine and the price is reasonable.
