Scientific breakthrough means you need never smell again
Sunday Supplement Device for old farts for sale
By Jock McFrock the bekilted Engineer: Sunday 04 January 2004, 11:55
A US FIRM has started selling a device which will absorb the smell of your farts.
The Flatulence Deodorizer is, claims the firm, the first realistic solution to what it describes as an "age old" problem.
The firm's advertising blurb quotes doctor Rae Seitz as saying that people "can go out to public places without fear of emitting embarrassing odors".
Are farts a problem? They sure are, says the firm. In its patent application, which you can find here, the description admits that while there is "prior art", the Flatulence Deodorizer has a slim profile and its filter is also washable and re-usable.
See, for example, this illustration from the US patent application.
I love this GIF...

Here, an inconsiderate gentleman obviously not wearing the Deodorizer is causing a bit of a pong around the carousel.
Of course the advantage in crowded places is that no-one can ever be sure who the offender is, but if the Deodorizer was made compulsory, it would surely be very easy to pin down culprits not wearing this crafty device. µ
