So I went to my friends in Seattle on New Years Eve to party the night away. As we were drinking we started to play Texas Holdem with a $20 buy in for everyone, winner take all. A couple of us had seen it on ESPN earlier in the day. I have watched for a couple of years now but this was my first experience actually playing for money. The whole betting strategy really came into play, bluffing...betting weak when flopped a straight and then taking all their cash. Pretty fun. Won $140. Then we played again on Saturday with 5 of us and won the other $80. It was amazing to me how many times the River card changes the outcome and also how you really can't expect to win with small pocket pairs. Cool game.
