I'm in Tulsa and the billiard palace has practice time for $2.50 an hour which is pretty reasonable I think.
Good equipment too - Gold Crowns - Simonis - Centennial Balls.
How much do you pay?

You have inspired me to go back to the garage and work on my instantaneous travel machine. $2.50 an hour--SHEESH
Try $6 an hour at the cheapest joint you can find (New York, NY).

Worst cost for me is the 4 or 5 hundred mile round trip to the nearest pool hall. Plus the motel bill since that makes it an overnight trip. /ccboard/images/graemlins/mad.gif
However Clicks in El Paso and Tucson has a $3 "all day" rate. 11 am till 6 pm. Then goes to $3.50 per hour per player. Or did last time I made the trips.
i feel like i'm getting robbed down here..
slick willie's is about $8 an hour, went last night shot 4 hours had drinks and had a $94 tab..
however, on tuesdays jillian's has $7 flat from 7-11pm..

O.K. Ray lets do some math.
4 hours at $8.00 an hour= $32.00
Your tab was $94.00
$94.00 - $32.00 = $62.00
$62.00 WORTH OF BOOZE!
Can you say 12 steps?
I'm just kidding, They have a Slick Willies here in Tulsa too , it is expensive!
My son and I went there one night and shot for one hour and had a couple of sodas and dropped $20.00 and the funny thing is you can literally look across the street and see Sir Billiards which is also only $2.50 for one player but is $7.00 for two players.

I pay nadda, zero, zilch. I maintain the pool equipment at the place I play at, and for that I get free pool time. It's not bad. Only 9 tables to look after, plus balls and cues.
Normally though, the rates are $2 an hour, and on Saturday nights from 9pm til 2am pool time is free for anyone.
There is this one place in Ottawa that charges $12 an hour.
I can't see myself paying that kind of cake to play. I'd be broke!!

I work one day a week at my pool hall for one reason-- free table time plus discounted food and drinks. Otherwise its $7/hr or we have coin ops for $1/ rack. of course different nights like APA/in the biz/ military/ police and fire rescue/ ladies nights give a chance at free pool practically any night of the week. The down side is everyone wants to play with me because they know its free... but hey, they buy me stuff for it so I'm usually tab free on any night.
in my defense there was 2 of us..

Comet Billiards in Parsippany, NJ offers a 'Practice Pass' of 40 bucks a month with unlimited play. If two people with passes are playing together you get charged one person rate which is like 4 bucks.
By the way, Jack Colavita is in there every day and the other day Alan Hopkins was playing 9 ball with someone. Real nice place with some very good players.

$3.50 per hour per person, with a max of $10.50/hour.
Our 14.1 league gets special rate of $2.50 per hour per person.
Tourney greens fees are about $3 to $5 IIRC
Another place I go sometimes is half price from 2 pm to 6 pm. About $1.50 per hour. Can't beat that.

Zero, Zilch, nada, nothing here in Charlotte at any one of four(4)rooms (Players, Rack Runners, Breakroom and Sharkey's) from 12 to 7 pm. These rooms are owned by the same guy and he claimes it's the best marketing move he ever made some years ago. After 7 it's $3.00 per hour or $5.00 per table except at Players where its never a charge to play.
He sells a ton of food and drinks but they don't really enforce the $3.00 minimum. I always tip the bar girls handsomely.

same here, since i play at the same school. But our tables just got moved around and need serious releveling. Otherwise i play a place that charges about $5 and you get all you can play from 6am to 6pm. On top of that, it's a 24hour pool hall. Can you really beat that?
