Here are the differences between the Gold Crown I and the Gold Crown II. The I s' have no leg levelers, "but" the slate frames on the I s' are thicker to make the play surface the correct height. The slate on the I s' is somewhat a pale red due to the flit within the slate, it will cause sparks and a flint smell with a coarse grit sandpaper. The pocket irons on the I s' are the barrell type which were never made again for any of the later Gold Crowns, the Gold Crown II s' and up have irons that are not as heavy duty. The quality of the GC I and II slates will be difficult to beat due to competition constantly driving down the price and quality of the tables. If anyone else knows of any other differces I would find that very interesting. BF

I've been told that some of the later GC 1's had leg levelers.

Ditto. Mine has leg levelers, too.
