Forecasters predict S. Florida's weather will stay brisk throughout week

South Florida should remain cool and dry this week as another wave of brisk air was expected to keep high temperatures in the high 60s today and in the low 70s on Wednesday, the National Weather Service in Miami said.
Morning temperatures today were expected to dip into the mid-50s in the western suburbs and the upper 50s along the coast. Most of the day should be mostly sunny and breezy, the weather service said.
Even cooler conditions were forecast for tonight and Wednesday morning, in the upper 40s west of Florida's Turnpike and a few degrees warmer along the coast, said weather specialist Bob Ebaugh.
"It will keep you from using your air conditioner," he said. "You definitely don't want to be without a jacket or sweater."
The cool snap comes on the heels of a cold front that moved over the region Monday evening. Another cold front is forecast to arrive on Friday, reinforcing the cool air already here, said meteorologist Kim Brabander.
"It looks like we have a cool week in store," he said.
"Even in the metro areas, the fog was very thick," said FHP Lt. Bill Ferrell.

VD,
Where I am from, it can get pretty cold, close to zero sometimes and minus degrees with the wind. But when it is cold in Florida, it does not have to be very cold for it to feel like a person is 'bone' cold. One time I was in Florida and it rained and then it dropped to 50 for a few days. No matter how many blankets or warm clothes I put on, I have never been colder in my life. I dont know what it is, but i was colder then than in zero degrees here.

We live for 35 out here. We had -17 the other day with the wind chill. I think without, the actual temp was around 10. I guess that's about what we're to expect in the next week as well as we get a clipper out of the north.

Barbara - you must be sick or dieing if you want a snowblower instead of a new case. I've had a snowblower for 15 years and love it. Everytime we get 12 inches or more, my driveway usually gets drifted shut with 2 - 3 foot high drifts. If we have a blizzard, I have 5 foot drifts in my driveway.
DG - Oh the shame of it all...

Tomorrow morning is supposed to be -12, not including the wind chill, with a high of about 12. On top of it all, we had about 3 - 4 inches of snow the other day and more expected later this week. No way. Pete and I fell in love with this 35 foot sailboat and have decided that's going to be our 20th wedding anniversary present, so we've started an aggressive savings plan. I actually nixed the new case totally in favor of the boat.
Vegas is out this year. So is any other vacation we were planning until we can get a decent down payment going.

I only got to see that major puppy anchored in the Delaware for safe harbor during that hurricane. Gayle in MD has seen that mega-yatch at sea off the Atlantic coast.
Wally Baby, if we had that kind of money, I'd consider a 50-foot sailboat and cruise the Caribbean with my Sweetie for the rest of my life!
