I just noticed all of Q-guys posts have been deleted. What happened?

Good morning Ken:

I would leave this issue be for now!

I dont have any idea on the specifics, but I'm sure the CCB Administrator used excellent judgement.

He was a total d*ck to me for no good reason instantly classifying me as selfish and inconsiderate based on my preferring not to check anything with the airlines. Seeemd to me he was on the verge of well i wont say but i think he needs a rest!

Sounds like self-deletion is an avenue I was not aware of. Thanks for the information Tom, it'll come in handy when the emotions override common sense....sid

Hi Nostroke,

He was a little tough on ya about that. Then again, I haven't traveled in awhile and some people find it annoying, to wait for people disembarking from the plane. When, someone without luggage stored in the overhead compartments, will have to wait. The service cured me of that. Hurry up and wait. LOL I was alittle shocked of his reply to you. Didn't sound like him.

About Q-Guy. I needed some help in researching shafts and the differences between AAA and A shaft wood. He was kind enough to give me more than I required about the subject. I feel bad for him now, if this is the case.

Don't take this as a way of making up for his treatment of you. Not everyone gets along in this world. I would like to say, in the long run, we're the ones who will suffer. His knowledge is extremely vast and now seems to be lost.

I don't know what happened and don't care to get involved if it was personal but I will miss him, nontheless.

Regards,

C.C.

Quote: TomBrooklyn:
This is a test. I will delete this post after it is responded to.

This is a test. Do not try to adjust your web browser. This post responds to my post immediately above. What was in that post is what I've quoted here. After posting this response, I have gone back and deleted that post. I believe it will show up as being deleted by me, not by ccadmin. Had I, or no one else responded to that post before I deleted it, it would have disappeared without a trace. Since there was a response made to it, when it was deleted it leaves an indication of such. This measure is taken so that the response doesn't appear to be responding to nothing.

A person can delete their own post, just as they can edit it, for a certain amount of time after it is posted./ccboard/images/icons/wink.gif It used to be six hours, but I think now that time has been made considerably longer. This is an excellent feature when used wisely, as it allows one to make corrections, addendums, or if the need is felt to remove a post after thinking better of it, the ability to do so.

Of course, one should try not to say things, and especially put things in writing, that they will regret later./ccboard/images/icons/shocked.gif Some times, especially when emotions run high, it is a good idea to put your post in a word processor; then come back to it when you are calm and decide if you still want to post it as is, make any changes, or omit posting it all together. This is just a general suggestion, and probably has nothing to do with why Q-Guy and MainEack deleted their own posts. Another great feature here is the private messages. It allows one to praise in public, critisize in private.

No worries, mate. /ccboard/images/icons/smile.gif

I have to agree Chris, his post seemed knowledgable and well versed. I think nostroke hit a pet peeve and I was suprised too at his strong re-action. Otherwise I thought he added a lot? I would also like to know what happend? This a bit "big brotherish" for me, I mean unless it was harmful and stalker like behaviour?
I think we all deserve an explanation....maybe someone has seen him post at AZ or playpool?

I agree. It should be explained. Q-guy could be helpful, but he seemed to lose it over the carry on thing.

From what I can see the posts in question were deleted by the posters themselves and not by the administrator. Jordan even mentions deleting his post(s).

Q-guy does not suffer fools lightly. I would assume there is an element of truth in what he posts. Perhaps he comes across a bit abrasive at times. He can post in whatever manner he wishes as far as I am concerned. I will take the wisdom as I find it.

Cuechick, you can go into your personal configuration and choose not to accept personal messages. Not saying that's the case, just possible.

Just wanna make it perfectly clear-I made no complaint to the CCB ADMIN or anyone else about him!

Ken,

It appears that only messages from Q-guy starting on the 19th have been deleted, and not all from the 19th have been removed.

If you wish to see the evidence, access Q-guy's viewable profile. Click on his name/hotlink, and then you will find a link at the bottom of the profile that says, "Show all user's posts".

If you're having trouble finding a post from which to click on his name/ID, either Search, or go to the User List from the bottom of the Index, and click through the pages until you find him.

Qguy sometimes seem to have breathed too much cocobolo dust but he's alright most of the time.
Let's just say he's passionate about his trade. Maybe too passionate. /ccboard/images/icons/smile.gif

Q-guy posted something in response to my post, I thought it was out of line, and I responded to it telling him so. When he deleted his post, I figured it would look stupid if I left a complaint about nothing so I deleted the 2 posts requesting he not post things about me he is not 100% sure of. I respect his choice and am happy we are back on the same page. He has given me great advice in the past.

I suspect he is in self-imposed exile. It appears to me that he has left the board for good and for real. I am very unhappy about that. He deleted as many of his messages as he could, and has turned off his personal messaging. He would probably unregister if such a function were available. I appreciate people who can say what they mean and mean what they say, and I saw a lot of that in Q-guy. I agreed with several of his more opinionated postings, but rarely feel the need to post just to say "I agree" (or "I disagree" for that matter).

Thanks for everything, Q-guy. We'll miss you.

I feel the same way. Q-Guy's opnions at times were very blunt and to the point. I too agreed with some of them and sometimes wished I was the one that made the comment.

Good evening:

As is the case with so many of us, as the addiction deepens, we do need time away for a little rehabilitation.
