I play nine ball at a pool hall near my work in Vancouver Canada. The playing surface of the (Dufferin) pool table is about 32" off the ground.I also occasionally play at another pool hall and the Gold Crowns there are quite a bit lower at 30" off the ground.I really notice the difference when I go to other pool hall and it takes me at least a set to adjust( my stance) as the two inch difference feels like a lot.
The owner of the Gold Crowns said that 30" meets regulations while the tables in my home pool hall are too high.My question is: What is the proper height for a 9' pool table, or can it vary within certain parameters?
Thanks, RJ
