Well, I received Stickmen in the mail today and as soon as I got home, popped in the DVD player and watched it. I would say it's in the same category as Poolhall Junkies but this one was even more stereotypical (is that a word?) of what poolplayers are. Anyway, I'm going to watch it a second time since I'm the kind of idiot that comprehends a movie a bit more after watching it again...

Wendy, I enyoyed it. And I figure anything that makes people think of pool is good. What's the saying "Any publicity is good publicity". JMHO ****Lester****

Well, I watched it again and I have to admit I did have a little bit of a hard time understanding some of the things they said because of their slang and the accent the first time around. But, all in all, it's another pool movie added to my collection.

You probably should watch it again with the English subtitles so you can understand what these Kiwi's are saying. I watched it last week and thought it was hilarious. I never put much attention on the actual pool playing (which was a little silly) but the characters were incredible (the men in black, those guys in the S&M bar, the 2 girls, plus the 3 guys starring in it). I would rate it a 5 star comedy with pool as a sidelight to get the comedy over. The one girl looked like she was probably a good poolplayer besides being a pretty good actress. For what was probably a very low budget movie I thought it was really good.

CCBer "vagabond" just happened to be in New Zealand when they were filming that. I always wondered if he had anything to do with the movie but since he is an International Man of Mystery I suppose I will never know.
