Dern the timeframe!!! If it were a week later I would be able to show up for the last week! But unfortunately, I have 19 days to get from Augusta-Mystic, CT to see family-Monterey, CA to my new assignment...starting on the 26th. Oh well...I guess I'll get the opportunity sooner or later to meet some of the rest of the CCB'rs...

Isnt there anyone else who is from around the Missisippi area or near it?
And although I see millions of signs for catfish, I just MAY try it-have to think about it,though!

Hey Carol, at least it's not boiled peanuts, like it is here in good ol' Georgia...lol.
(imagine eating soggy, salty, peanuts...blech...)
Dags - won't touch the things...

I hear that the Mississippi state championships are at the same time as our tournament. I hope it doesn't hurt our turn out too much.

I swear to god Carol...I thought I was reading things too when I first was stationed down here...(originally from CT)...until one of my friends, (who is georgian), was chowing down on a sack of them...offered one to me. Was one of the most disgusting things I've ever had the unpleasure of eating...they can keep'em. I'll stick to clam fritters, grinders, REAL pizza, great Italian food, and lobster. LOL

One time, I was visiting my family in Maui and theres this seafood they eat, its like a clam, well, my uncle tells me try it-(when I visit my family I bring beefaroni with me,I didnt grow up on Hawaiian food)-anyways, I try this clam and the damn thing was alive and sucked on my tongue-that was the end of that!ha ha ha
Carol~give me good ole campbells chicken soup! /ccboard/images/graemlins/wink.gif

OMG!!! I had to check myself here...(living in the barracks...roomate has to get up in a few hours for work.)
Almost busted out with a full on gut wrenching laugh. I think I would have freaked if something I was trying to eat sucked on my tounge...LOL That's too funny...
02-09-2004, 03:12 AM
Check this out-at the same time as Mississippi, the BCA 9 ball qualifier for Vegas pro event is being held at Slate billiards-now thats a bummer!
02-09-2004, 03:14 AM
You bet I freaked,ha ha ha-hey,where are your barracks-what military are you in and God bless you!
02-09-2004, 03:18 AM
Right now I'm in Disgu...darn it, almost did it again, Augusta, GA, and am active duty Army. Thanks for the support!!! It's always appreciated. *blushing* What room do you play out of in NYC? I'm getting moved to Monterey, CA in about a month and will be going home (CT)for a week or so before I leave...I'd love to head into the city and stop by some of the pool halls that I used to hit on a monthly basis...although I heard that Chelsea Billiards has totally changed...oh well.
*edit* Now that I think about it, there's someone living here that you may know...name's Art. Black guy, dreds, kinda bigger, glasses. Likes to shoot straight pool. He's from the city, and apparently knows Tony Robles pretty well...thought you might know him. He was one of the first people I met down here when I showed up 3 years ago, and we've gone to tourneys all over GA.
02-09-2004, 03:23 AM
You take very good care of yourself-stay safe-one of my uncles was green beret-also have MANY cousins in military-if your ever up NY way, just drop a line-I play at Corner Billiards!
Hope to meet you one day!
You take care-its been a pleasure!
02-09-2004, 03:27 AM
I'll deffinitely try to make it in there...I've heard good things about that room. If not during the week that I'm home, then on the way back. Could catch the metro south from Jersey and spend a day in the city. We'll see...and thanks for the blessing. All I can say is "I'm just doing my duty."
Dags *hates blanket statements like that, but loves his quilt*
