USB 2.0 Transfer Rate?

I just installed an external drive and a USB 2.0 card to my PC and want to find out if a transfer rate of 1 meg per second is right, or if my USB drivers might have installed wrongly, leaving me with a possible 1.0 or between that and 2.0.

Anybody know whether I am seeing 1.0 or 2.0 speeds when I get 1 MEG a second(3.5 minutes to shift 211 megs) from one primary drive to the new external.

the speed can vary greatly depending on different factors.The high end perfect world numbers for USB 2.0 would be 480 Mb (MegaBITS, not bytes) as opposed to the 12Mbps of 1.1. This may help:
USB 1.0 1.5 Mbps

USB 1.1 12 Mbps

USB 2.0 low speed 1.5 Mbps

USB 2.0 full speed 12 Mbps

USB 2.0 high speed 480 Mbps
