I am looking to spend up to $4000 on a new table and the local dealer suggested the 8 ft Brunswick Brookstone with upgraded cloth for $3100. Is this a good deal? Is there another table I should be looking at. Thanks

If you've got the room, I would personally go with a 9' table, well within your price range. Slap some Simonis cloth on there and you're rolling. But that depends on the room you've got and personal preference. I just looked at the table you were talking about and really it all depends on your personal preference. But don't settle for what's on the sales floor, for that price get what you want. I'm assuming your going through the Billiard Factory for all this being from Houston ( I was just there last week) and personally I didn't like what I saw on the floor. But they did seem willing to get whatever you wanted. Shop around on the web and find exactly what you want. They deal with Brunswick, Olhausen, and AMF (and maybe Beach) if I'm not mistaking and for the best investment of your money, don't rush the decision. You can also find room charts to tell you if you have enough room for the table you're looking at.

I'd make a list of about 5 or 6 or however many tables you're interesested in and find out prices for them. But by all means, shop around.
