View Full Version : covering new cushions

I am told that some Pool Table Mechanics use a water spritzer, to shrink the cloth on new cushions after covering them... can anybody help me here? I'm just about to finish up with my new Pool Table.

I'm wating for an answer to this. I also wonder if covering the cushions while the cloth is damp will make the cloth tighter after it dries out. For that matter how much difference does tight cloth make in how the cushions rebounds?

you can pull the cloth too tight. I have played on newly covered tables where they had pulled the cloth so tight on the cushions that they were wavy as you looked down them and it did not go away. Just a word of caution.

Please don't fall for any "secret" tips for covering rails and tables. First of all, if you haven't ever covered rails before, just take the rails and the cloth to your local billiards store and have them covered for you. Should cost you less than a hundred bucks. I used to charge 10 bucks a rail.
