I want to get a predator shaft for my viking vm25 with the quick release 5/16x18 thread.

I have 2 questions.

First, can I get the regular 5/16x18 shaft, or do I have to get a special viking 5/16x18. Seyberts has both versions listed.

A shaft is for sale that has this description:
Brand new Predator 314 shaft, 1st quality, never been used and chalked,5/16-18 thread, 12.75mm. This shaft will fit Viking, Meucci, Huebler, Players cues.

Now I have another cue with a 5/16x18 thread and the shaft on that is not interchangable with my viking...so will this predator shaft work? Or should I play it safe and order from seyberts instead of trying to save some money?

Question 2: How much would it cost to have someone turn the shaft down to say 12.3mm? Anyone have any recommendations of a cuemaker who would do that?

I have a predator for sale that is 12.10mm. It was used on a regular threaded Meucci. PM me if interested.

but will this fit my viking with quick release?

Hi silver2k,

Based on your description, I'd think you'd need to get the special viking 5/16x18.

Look here for pictures of the Predator joints:

http://www.predatorcues.com/english/jointtypes.htm

Notice that they show the Viking quick release as a separate item.

My previous cue was a VM28 with a pred shaft. To answer your question, the regular 5/16x18 won't fit on your viking. You need to get the pred for a viking quick release. I'm not sure though if the QR would fit the regular 5/16x18

I t wont fit your cue. Predator has the shaft and so does Viking. McDermott and Viking now offer the choice of a their shaft or a 314 shaft with your purchase now.
