Thanks, I was going to look for that post. Unless you are buying the pre-made ferrules, the mark up on the rod material is not that bad considering the profit once you make your own ferrule. It is not worth buying direct from the manufacture and you can get small orders from Atlas and Prather. After I thought about it, I don't think it would be ethical or fair to post the name of someone's supplier on the net. I don't know that the products were not developed just for them. I do know that the supplier told me when they run the ferrule material it is a big process, they have to get everything clean and ready to run the stuff. What they usually make are just industrial materials and the looks don't matter like it does with cue parts. That is why such a long lead time, it is a major hassle for them to make the stuff due to the clean factor and they don't run it all the time. There are a couple of suppliers that do make a white linen rod but are not so meticulous and you may find specks of dirt and stuff in the ferrules. They usually seem to appear just as you are finishing the job and you have to do the whole job over.
