Not sure you are completely wrong...running out will make you better.

MAking the 9 is probably better though!!

It would depend on a couple of things. How well do you runout, how easy is the combo? I will almost always runout unless the 9 is really, really easy. It is amazing, you can miss almost any combination, they are just not easy, even the ones that seem easy.
