Why would anyone stake a player in the ring game? Why would a player want to be staked anyway? You put up $1500. and the pot is $9000. If your man wins and you take the $1500 off the top and split the $7500., that gives you $3750. Who would put up $1500. to win $3750. in a ring game? Why don't the players just put up their own money and play? You come on here begging for charity to sponsor players, are you kidding?

Because they can?

It sounded more like an invite - I beg everyday ,in the words "Dear God, I beg of you to watch over us all!"

Take care!

It is begging, even during the Derby City ring games, a few did not come off because they could not find suckers to put up the money. I had just assumed the players were entering and playing, not is was like a charity event for the players.
