View Full Version : ACS or BCA - Not Both?

I've been talking with my league operator about what will happen with our league next year.

In Canada, it appears we will have a Canadian CuesSports organization (CCS) that will be affiliated with the American CueSports (ACS) organization in a manner similar to the State organizations. Yep, I know you've always thought of Canada as the 51st State. /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif If we join the CCS we automatically become members of the ACS.

I suggested that we register our league with both the CCS/ACS and BCA to leave all our options open. I didn't mind paying the extra money as I would probably become an individual BCA member if I'm not a BCA league member.

Turns out if our league registers with BCA we will NOT be eligible to register with CCS/ACS. /ccboard/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Is this restriction purely Canadian or does it apply to the ACS as a whole?

I wonder if the BCA also has such a restriction?

I checked both web sites and could not find anything about multi-league sanctioning.

From information I gleaned from the USPPA web site, it appears that the same league may be registered with the BCA and USPPA.

Anyone have more information?

Holy Cow Dave! I must be livin' in a cave, because I've never even HEARD of the ACS. Is this what Mark Griffin is calling the new BCA league organization? Hope you & Joanne are doing well up in BC!

Hi Scott,

Spring in Victoria starts in February and almost everything is in full bloom right now. It is absolutely gorgeous and the weather has been fabulous.

Here is a link to Mark's new BCA Pool League (http://www.bcapoolleague.com/) web site and a link to the new American CueSports (http://www.americancuesports.org/) web site. Makes for interesting reading.

There are also some articles over at MNBilliards.com. (http://www.mnbilliards.com/)

I also posted this over at AZBilliards and there was some confusion about whether I said the restricted registration was a BCA policy.

I said it was a CCS/ACS restriction.

My league operator was told that he would have to register the league through CCS and would automatically be registered in ACS. He could not register in ACS directly. He was further told that if he registered the league with BCA, CCS would NOT register his league.

It seems obvious to me that CCS is the agent of ACS in Canada and a CCS restriction on registrations is also an ACS restriction.

I would like to know if leagues in the US can register both with ACS and BCA or does ACS have a restriction against this.
