Six Ball: Simple rule question

Never watched the game before earlier today. Question: if a player makes the six ball on the break does he win? There were two players about to kill each other over this rule earlier today. I was just curious what the rule is (I had thought it was a variant of nine ball and thus likely that it was the same as making the nine ball on the break).

I believe if you legally pot the 6 on the break it is a win.

I seriously recommend you get your hands on a BCA rulebook... Great reference for rules of all kinds of games. They sell it on their website... pretty cheap if I recall correctly.
