This may be one of those times when if I have to ask the question, I won't understand the answer......but I would appreciate hearing some discussion of the benefits of a custom cue over a good production cue.

Try playing with a variety of both production and custome cues if there is any way to do so. If, when you have done that, if you haven't answered your own question, then spending money on a custom cue is a waste.

Buying a Custom Cue gets you customer service for your money. That's important, because nothing lasts forever. I would say that you should always get a second shaft too... that allows you to continue playing consistantly when a shaft is in for a new tip or ferrule.
John Parker makes great hittin' Cues & some of them are works of art too. You can get a $200 slicked up SneakyPete or a $3000 Masterpiece at www.auerbachcustomcues.com (http://www.auerbachcustomcues.com)
