Around here we call him the little BB because he shoots everybody down. His real name is Brady B. and he runs a poolroom with his dad the big BB.

He's really really good.I've never seen him play but that's what he tells me anyway.I know he wouldn't fib to me."I'm the best in town and will be a legend in my mind someday" lil BB always says.My town is Virginia Beach.

Well, here in Texas it is "Sunny Ray Ray", "Big Shorty" and "Pizza Face Paulie."

"Sunny Ray Ray" got his name from the carcinomas on his face from his days of living in Vero Beach, FL.

"Big Shorty" got his name from his role in a pool-related porno film.

"Pizza Face Paulie" got his moniker because of his bad acne.

All of them can play a pretty good stick but are scary to look at. They are a veritable smorgasborg of "ugly."

Regards,

Ken (no nickname that I can print here)

Best in Virginia Beach area would be Ty Laha, Fred Congleton, Dave Bollman, & Tim Colvin. They all play real close. Whoever suggested that I am the best is Sadly mistaken. I get the 7 from just about anyone.lol

Thanks For the ego boost though.

Tough to say, there's a bunch: Dan Basavich, Al Lapena, Teddy Garrahan, Allen Hopkins to name a few.

This sounds like you looking to find out where to go and who to play, but I'll bite.

Jon Kucharo, Jeese Bowman, Jamie Baraks, Jamie Bowman and not sure of who's in the entire state. The most serious minded player is Jamie Baraks. Puts in tons of table time. The rest just can take it or leave it.

I'm by far the worst but know more about the table than they do. I also believe they've all been to see Jerry Briesath(sp?) atleast once.

If that tells ya something?

> I am,but considering that I am probably the only serious player in this town, that doesn't mean much. In this area, pool is still in the 1960's,with 8 foot tables, two car pockets, and slow cloth pretty much everywhere you go. You get looked at like an idiot if you use the bridge instead if crawling up on the table, enough said. Tommy D.

Right now it's the Russian champ. (I forgot what they said his name is...Sakov? Salakov?) He's 22, looks like he's 14 and plays scary good pool. He played in our Monday night tournament; 64 players, all tough. They brought him in at a whopping plus 6 handicap. (To give you an idea, Parica plays at a plus 5). In his first match, the kid ran 7 racks on funky equipment. He finished 2nd only because he had to spot Frankie Hernandez the 5 ball in the finals. I don't think Frankie ever got the 5 ball from anyone.

He's playing in Las Vegas in the pro division representing Russia. It should be exciting to watch.

Hi Fran,

I believe his name is Evgeny Stalev. I had a chance to watch him play at the U.S. Open. He's definately a monster player. We went to cheer on a friend who was also playing and on the last day, Stalev happened to catch my eye. This kid has an awesome cueball. Kinda reminds me of Buddy Hall, the way he controls the rock.

Eric >get's the 5 from Stevie Wonder

Hello Mates,
I could never understand Stalev.Lot of players from other countries have been playing very good 9 ball and I can understand this. But Stalev plays very good one pocket. How is he able to learn one pocket in Russia!! Two years ago I saw him beat a top one pocket player( I am not mentioning the name). In fact he gave a spot to our top player. It still amazes me.Cheers

The best pool player in South Florida goes by the name of Three Finger Porno Pump Ferraro. He gives anybody with a stick and a pulse the orange crush and a case of the jitters. He bets so high you need a wheelbarrel of drachmas (sp?) just to get in the room. Just teasing. We've got a couple of decent players in the Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach area, too bad I'm not one of 'em.

I've seen Stalev match up against GM in the Derby City Classic. Lots of Jellybeans were involved, and this young kid was as 'stoned faced' (very un-emotional) as anyone I have ever seen.

I have heard that he had spent a couple of years playing in the Phillipines. That must have been interesting.

I also saw him play against Earl (Stalev lost) in the 2001 US Open.

Stalev has a thunderous break, its almost too hard. There was at least two times I saw him break that all the balls ended up in the opposite end of the table.

Deuel, Atkins and Vickery. Not bad for a cow town.

The bigger they are, the harder they fall. With a little weight I'll play 'em all. I need the breaks and the last shot. Line up right over there.

Hello Mate (LOL),

I watched him run out 3 games of one pocket in a row. I thought to myself. OK, I've seen enough. Haha!

Hope you're having fun down under.

Stalev played in one of my tour events in 2001. He stayed at a local boys house for 3 weeks, watched him play lotsa 1-hole and 9-ball in my home room, real loose he is. Wished I saw him play that Russian game he has been their country's champion at since he was 17....

Voodoo...will not devulge any more info out of respect for the KGB

Chris, I'll tell you a story about Voodoo. When I met him he played normal. All of the sudden he had this 3 fingered wrist snap. I asked where he picked it up and he told me it was something he did 20 years ago. The "porno pump" part? Well I suggest you call Steve and ask him personally. I'm sure it has something to do with the time he spent on the blue screen. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAhAHA

I hear through my knowledge pipeline that Stalev is an animal on the table. Of course he rolled through town and as far as I know no one played him and I didn't see him. Drats!!!!!! I'm always the last to know.
