Try looking at the Dufferin Phantom. For 70 bucks you'll be very pleasantly surprised.

i was thinking of maybe the Joss Custom Z sneaky pete http://www.billiardswarehouse.com/cues/joss/joss_custom-z_pool_cue.htm any info about how it plays?

My dad plays with an older Joss Sneaky Pete or Hustler. It plays pretty good. My only problem with Joss is the shafts are too big for me, at 13.25mm. Once it goes over 13mm it just feels like a baseball bat in my hand.

Speaking of that the butt is pretty thick too.

I used to play with a Joss and they had a very nice hit. But have had several people tell me that the hit of the cues they are putting out today can vary greatly from cue to cue.

I would suggest:
Ted Harris
Bludworth
Dzuricky
Sanko
Diveney
Blackheart
They all make great petes for your price range. You may have to spend a little bit more but its worth every penny!

I'm using a modifed Sheldon Lebow Sneaky Pete. They should be well within your budget. See my comments in the thread "Custom cues and the players who own them"

Sheldon Lebow Cues (http://www.sheldoncue.com/)

Is it still considered a sneaky pete with their big maple leaf logo on it? I wouldnt think so but who knows.

And i would say a schurtz custom, but you said you dont want a custom.

I got a Bludworth several months ago and a Blackheart shortly thereafter and they are both nice. So far, I can't put the Bludworth down and give the Blackheart much of a test drive.
They were each between $200-$250.

I have a Bludworth, nice cue, but it became my break stick after I got my Madison Bob cue.

Falcon sells one that is a superb hitter, both in breaking and playing. You'd have to get in touch with their rep and specifically ask for a true-SP,,,they only make so many a year and they did not used to even list a pic of one on the internet at all. Last time I called the cost was in the mid 100 range, so given it's been a while, something around 200 or less would get one.

I'd consider one of the Lucasi SPs as well, looks sneaky and is reasonable, plus it hits like the other Lucasi cues, fine...sid

i think ive narrowed down my selection to 4... which of these 4 sneaky petes would YOU personally pick... McDermott, Falcon, Meucci, and maybe Huebler?

You might give Heubler more consideration, it is a true sneaky pete, no plastic around the joint. They are made well and a very solid. When I was in business I sold quite a few. I had a larger shaft made and weighted exactly on my Hubler. Stock is 13mm of course.

Hi POon,

I hate to add to the greatest list of sneaky petes but I recommend two. Meucci makes the best when I was coming up. I did get to try a Ned Morris and it hit really great. TS is very famous for his but you have to take good care of them. Yep, I like the Meucci but don't tell anyone I condone using one. LMAO J/K

Regards,

C.C.~~Huebler? Never hit with one. Probably compairable to the Meucci. /ccboard/images/graemlins/confused.gif

the only reason why i said "maybe Huebler" is because i wouldnt know where to get 1... i looked in their site but it said that only certain people sell them... so if anybody knows where i can get 1 then i would consider it more...

Did you send off an email to them? I would think there should be some dealers in Cali. They don't whore out cues like some others.

yeah i just did... you dont know of any?

Rod
06-22-2004, 10:24 PM
Well I did, ME. I bought so many that I got an extra percentage off. No I don't know anyone now, I don't keep up with that stuff. I sold mine for 90 bucks, I forget I think it was 25 percent off. It will be more no doubt but it shouldn't be full retail.

PoOn

how much is the regular price?

Rod
06-22-2004, 10:44 PM
Ask them, I really don't know. That was over 4 years ago, I've slept since then. lol It might have been about 140 retail.
