In our video demonstrations, we are cutting a sheet of plywood or particle board and place a hot dog in the path of the blade to simulate a user's finger. The SawStop system detects contact between the hot dog and the blade of the saw and stops the blade in approximately 5 milliseconds or less, resulting in only a small nick in the skin of the hot dog...

Having worked on many different types of saws I can honestly say that I hate them.

Wow. That saw blade stops so fast it looks like trick photography!

That was great, think of all the fingers, hands or even limbs that could have been saved. The chop saw had the slowest reaction time.

Table saws are dangerous.
A friend of mine almost lost all of his left fingers.
They do sell Tite http://www.rockler.com/Rockler/images/34752b-lg.jpg - Grip now though. It works really well too.
