Legendary Stars of Billiards Tourney -When was it?

Here in Australia they have been showing this LEgendary starts of Pocket Billiards tournament on ESPN. It's hell cool with Willie Mosconi, Luther Lassiter, Minesota Fats, Irving Crane etc etc

Hosted by Allen Hopkins, i am guessing this tournament occured in the early 80s,is that right ?

anyone have a specific year ?

how many of these great players is sadly now dead ?

Early 80's I believe. Almost all of them are now dead

The exact year I don't know, somewhere about 1980 to 1983, I think. Sadly only one may be alive.

I saw a lot of them but only checked for the date once- It was 1983- All of them were waaaaaaaay past their prime.
