hope i am not wearing out my welcome as a new forum member but i have another odd question.can a cuemaker change the joint on an existing cue with a flatfaced steel joint with a radial pin to a traditional 5/16-14 steel joint without messing up the balance, etc? thanks again for any help out there m.s.

Your not wearing out your welcome in the least. So, go for it. /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif Now, the balance wouldn't change too much but the two different joints are also of different weight. So, the hit might feel different to you and the balance will not be the same. I don't feel that it would change much, just slightly. I also think you'll be able to live with it. Matter of fact I think you'll like the hit of it better than the flat faced SS. More solid hit. imho
I'm not a cuemaker nor an expert so, don't take my word. /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif
C.C.~~just making the new guy feel good and reply. lol

IF a thin-wall ss collar is used, there wouldn't be much weight difference.
But, is this worth the trouble?
I don't think so.
The radial pin is fine.
