My pool table came from an old restaurant, and its condition is deteriorating quickly. The biggest problem are the rails, they are starting to lose their stiffness and shift upwards when hit (causing very little bounce, if you're lucky to get any at all).
I was wondering, if one could repair this himself or should he trust it with a professional?

Ivan-
You should definately leave the job for someone with some experience. It sounds like you need to buy some new rails, and you might as well replace the rug while you're at it. What kind of table is it?

HAHAHAHA The rubber need replacing. It's not real head and you can buy some from Mueller. Just be careful when cutting it and you'll need the glue used. I think it's called Barge? Not sure.
BTW, it's an old joke,
