A friend of a friend bought an old Hoille cue at a yard sale for $5. It has a carved handle. Anybody ever heard of them?

A carved handle would indicate a custom cue by some out of bussiness custom maker. Sounds like he did not go wrong for the money! Edwin Reyes makes some real nice hand carved cues that you could use to compare the carving detail between the two. This sounds like a real good find!

Wally:

Hoille is a European cue - French. They were imported for a short while. They are quite well known in Europe and been around for a long time. Kind of like Sampaio. I have one with a checkered grip area. Good quality. I haven't done a search, but I'm sure a "google" would yield something.

Adios,
