I really enjoy playing Yahoo's internet pool game, but it seems as though that site is filled with people who have ulterior motives. Does anyone know of a Christian, or just morally decent, website that has internet pool on it? I don't want to have to give up online pool altogether, but I can't keep playing on Yahoo either. Thanks for your help.

Well you never know what you'll run into or across but try Mini clips (http://www.miniclip.com/Homepage.htm). There is good and bad where ever you go, see what you think.

Hey GOG,
Would you elaborate what these immorally indecent people did to you and what kind of ulterior motives they had?

I am curious because some of the worst mean sprited people I have met are so called bible toting, holier-than-thou christians.

Anyway, welcome to CCB where our only motive is getting better at the game we love. /ccboard/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Hmmm, the last GirlofGod was Jean D'Arc and we all know what happened to her.

Seriously, there was some kind of Christian Pool players group spamming on RSB about a year ago or so. You might go to the google archives and see if you can find out anything about them and maybe they'd be able to answer your question. I have no idea what the name of their website was, it held absolutely no interest to me.
IMO if you're interested in pool you should just get used to a little foul language or whatever it was that bothered you. I put up with the haze of smoke, you can put up with a few swears.

If you really search deeply enough, you will find that many have 'ulterior motives' of one sort or another, whether they are Christian or not.

DO not know anything about internet pool that is Christian. There used to be a place with a Christian Pool Forum but does not seem to be generating much action these days.

But really, people here on CCB are for the most part, polite and many are 'moral'. I think if you stick around, you will find this place pretty nice.

Jim Mizzula (preacherman on CCB) is a very nice man, and is not into 'spam' at all. His Christian poolplayers group is growing in popularity all over the country. I have sent him a couple of new players myself.

I don't know the man, but I'm sure he is a nice fellow, most serious Christians are. Frankly, I have no idea whether or not his group did the posting on RSB that I referred to as spam. Furthermore, even if it was his group, you might not have considered the post spamming, but I have a very low tolerance for proselytizing and it was clearly that. If I want to be preached to I can turn on the religious channels on cable, there certainly are enough of them.
BTW, as a credit to whoever it was, when several rsb'rs expressed their opinion that it was off topic and possibly spam he did desist.

Thanks so much to all of you for your suggestions. And to those of you who were offended by my question... I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to come across as a bible toting, holier-than-thou Christian. I wish you all the best of luck in your pool-playing!

Jesus could have been a pool player. He didn't have any visible means of support, looked generally unkempt, sponged off his friends for food and a place to stay, and told tall tales all day.

My name is Jim "Preacherman" and I run a Christian Pool Players Association - www.christianpoolplayers.com (http://www.christianpoolplayers.com) and while I don't play on pool on the computer I will likely be able to find some who do.

Hi Wally,
This is "preacherman". I've been around, but hope to not be classified as a "spammer". Doesn't match me! Also I do try to stay on pool in pool forums :-) But thanks for mentioning me -lol!

Jim,

Yes there is a christian pool forum there and people posted there, including myself. I just have not seen any action on that one for awhile. Do not know why, just that for awhile it was pretty active but is not now. It is still there though, I am pretty sure.

I went over to the web site and read the christain joke section. They are pretty good. I do find it amusing that when an atheist is needed for a joke, my name is used. That's OK with me. However, to set the record straight, I do believe there is a Creator, I just don't believe in religion. Prostitution may be the oldest profession, but religion is the oldest hustle.

Something you could do is change your user profile in Yahoo to say that you are a male. That would cut down on the people looking for other things. It may be a little dishonest, but it should keep away all of the folks lookin for a date. Just an idea.

If you believe in a 'creator', is that agnostic or atheist? I used to read those jokes too until some of them were not entertaining to me anymore. Did not see your name, so must have been one of those I did not read. /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif
