I am sure we know what this post is going to be about, but for those who may not, here is the deal. You are being shipped to a desert island, never to return. You are allowed to bring 10 cds of your choice, as that is all you have room for. All other animities are provided for. (including a pool table /ccboard/images/graemlins/wink.gif )
There are four rules:
1. No more than one album per artist (not counting soundtrack contributions);
2. Double albums count as two disc;
3. You have to currently own the CD.
4. No mix Cds, all have to be legit releases.

Here are my picks (in no particluar order.)

1. & 2. Pink Floyd- The Wall (double disc, counts as two)
3. The Lemmonheads- It's A Shame About Ray
4. Van Morrison- The Best Of
5. MDC-Shades of Brown
6.& 7. Chicago- The Very Best of Chicago: Only the Beginning (double disc, counts as two)
8. Ani Difranco- Dilate
9. Big Head Todd and the Monsters- Sister Sweetly
10. Jimmy Buffett- All the Great Hits

That should do it. It's the top 10 Cds I own that I lsten to all of the time. Now hopefully I can live with this choice for the rest of my life. /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Now what are yours?

Wally, I pulled that album out a couple of weeks ago to play for my teenage step-son. (He's a guitar player) Brought back some great memories from 30 plus years ago, and impressed the kid that we had great music back in the "old days"!

I saw them in Columbus Ohio 2 weeks ago. Andy Powell is the only original member but he has an excellent crew playing with him.

They have never quit gigging and recording. They came out with an album in 2002 called Bona Fide that is very good. With the advent of the internet it is much easier for the fans to know their schedule. Folks come from hundreds of miles to see them.

The batteries are already supplied! As far as the babe...you can have one for five Cds. But you have to write your list and I will pick which five I don't want you to have. Babes come with a price. And you have to ask yourself, do the benifits of having a babe with you on the island outway the losses of having one? Us babes can be pretty trying at times...I'd think I'd rather have the music, lol.

Ok you are so not following the rules here, as you have 5 albums by the same artist. I admit that I have never heard of Wishbone Ash before, I have to look them up. They must be really good. What kind of music are they? Who are they similar too?

I wouldn't need CDs. All I'd want would be a pooltable that can withstand humidity, a good looking guy for the competition, and just the sounds of the waves crashing in with the birds chirping above would be music to my ears. /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Wishbone Ash goes back to the early 70's...rock guitars, marathon songs. IF you can download either Handy or Phoenix from the Wishbone Ash album, check them out. Very fine guitar work.

Thanx for the intro. I just checked a bit torrent site to see if they had any live boots for DL, but they don't. I'll play on the net looking for them later, if worse comes to worse I can always sample from Amazon. Thanx again!

1. Cars - Greatest Hits
2. Billy Joel - 52 Street
3. Otis Redding - best of
4. Tom Petty - best of
5. Doors - The Doors

Because you like some decent, er GREAT stuff, I'm the babe that is going with you. But NO funny business, as I am a married woman! /ccboard/images/graemlins/frown.gif (and I don't have buck teeth either, see: /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif)

You do kind of win here a bit, as I'm taking Floyd's The Wall with me. /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif

LS,

Umm, well you'll never know how close you got to my list, real close. I should have substituted Elton John for another. As another slight deversion of course. LOL It's just my way. /ccboard/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Perhaps you call it a win of sort but I see otherwise. A babe and no fooling around?? Do you have a sister? JK with you, it would be fun and if nothing else, you will learn how to rack! ha ha ha ha ha I might need an ice pack for that comment.

Ha! Ha! You are a funny man with all of your smack talk. I must admit that after a few years I may need your racking lesson, as I may forget how. Being I was too busy kicking your butt and all. /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Ok, fair enough, when you win I'll rack. Heck, I'll try to rack anyway because I don't want my playing partner to end up with a sore back.(see how thoughtful I am) /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif Now, should I experience whatever people do that rack, then of course I might make a good instructor. I may need your help in the beginning, cause I'm way out of tune doing such. /ccboard/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

~~~rod, where's the rack? what's for dinner? LOL
A whole bunch of "Best of..." albums, I guess.
I figure if there's a CD called "How to Build a Boat if All You've Got are Coconuts and Sand," then that's the one I really want with me.
Geez, S-Petty,
LS is a married woman. I'm just a lad in the woods, not experienced to worldly ways. /ccboard/images/graemlins/blush.gif It was a completely innocent request. How was I to know? LOL
Besides were negotiating. I'm not sure how well that is going though. We might kill each other before the boat leaves. And no, not onestone's way. ha ha ha ha
Thank God, that would make me a sinner wouldn't it?
You guys are all too much! I think eventually we will get of that island any how. The guys from Alcatraz did, and I have a weird feeling that the folks on Days of Our Lives (the soap) will too.
Nimoys' and Shatners' album were absolutely the worst. My wife has all three of Nimoys albums and I think Shatner did only one. She has that as well. Movie stars should not be allowed to make any musical recordings.
