My beautiful baby girl....

Hello everyone,

This weekend in the midst of a hurricane my wife and I drove to the hospital just in time for our new baby Haleigh Ann Newman. /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif She was born on September 5, 2004 at 1:51 AM. She was 7lbs 9oz, and 20.5 inches long. We were allowed to leave the hospital this morning since both Heather and Haleigh were doing so well. I am about worn out already and it has only been a couple days. /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Everything thing seemed to go pretty quick. We got to the hospital around 7 PM. We were a bit discouraged to find out Heather was only at 1cm, but since the contractions were so strong the nurse had the doctor check also (took 30 mins to get him in the room). At that point we were at 3cm. The doc admitted her and gave her an epidural. 2 hours later the doc broke her water. 1.5 hours the nurse did an exam and she was at 5 cm. 1.5 hours after that another exam. SURPRISE, she was at 10 cm. The doc came in (with a bunch of other people) and got the room ready for the baby. Heather pushed for 20 minutes before the baby came out.

What an awesome event. I did not know my wife handled pain so well, but with the epidural, she never even groaned once while pushing the baby out. Everything seemed a blur to me. /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif

When my daughter was an infant, she also got her days and nights mixed up. It made for a few long weeks until I finally got her back on schedule. Do you have a cue for her yet?lol I thought she would have one for a picture.
