The table I played on last night, unbeknownst to me, rolled off badly. (to the top of the page as it is shown here.)

When we lagged my 1-ball ended up below the rail. /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif

)END

I said to my opponent "Ha, beat that" /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I just thought it was funny.

Thanks for your time.

(f) The ball rests within the corner pocket and past the nose of the head cushion

AAAAArghhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!

I doubt anyone in that particular tavern was aware of that rule. So it doesn't apply. Right? /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Great lag! Who cares if it's good or not. Just roll the balls to the foot spot and grab your break cue.

That was one great lag Wally.Another great lag(s) that comes to my mind involves our local pro John Horsfall, Fransisco Bustamante and Earl Strickland at the international tournament of Champions in 2003.This is a winner take all $50,000 tournament featuring champions from Asia, Europe, North America etc.

Horsfall(Canadian champ) was playing Earl Strickland in the semi final and each player had won a (race to 5) set. This set up a one game (sudden death) playoff and a lag to see who gets the break. Horsfall stuck it right on the cushion, broke, ran and sent Earl packing.

The same scenario occured in the ($50,000 winner take all)
final. Horsfall and Bustamante had won one set each and once again it was a one game sudden death showdown for all the marbles.I didn't see the lags personally(missed it on TV) on this match , but apparently(Horsfall told me) Bustamante stuck it on or near the cushion and narrowly beat John to win the lag.He then proceeded to break and run and win the $50,000.

Under such immense pressure, that has to go down in history as one great, great lag.But it's still not as good as your's Wally...LOL., RJ

LOL Wally but it's not legal! It can't rest within the pocket or go past the head rail. That is in the general rules of all pool games. There's a lot more but you violated one. /ccboard/images/graemlins/frown.gif K, back to rules class. LOL Nice try.

My best lag story was told to me by Tommy "Little Caesar" Giovanni. He was about to play the Great Ralph Greenleaf and he ask Ralph if it was alright to play him a tight safe game/back scratch etc, that was the way he played pool. Well Ralph told him play the way you normally play and then they lagged for the break. Ralph's lag barely reached the side pocket and Tommy let him break. Ralph gave him a rotation break, Tommy ran 7 balls and missed and Ralph ran 125 and out.####

What's a rotation break? I know what the game is, but I don't know the break strategy.

Zuglan breaks

Sigel runs 150 and out

Zuglan was heard to say after the match "I need to work on my lag" /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Wally, Sigel and Zuglan played three times and Mike Sigel ran 150 and out in the first and third games. Mike Zuglan ran 138 and lost in the middle game.

I don't know what Mike Sigel did to win but the Mikes bring out the best in each other.####
