I am trying to purchase a pool table but I want to make sure I have enough room in my basement to accommodate one. What is the minimum measurements a room should be to fit a standard table?
this site gives you a pretty good idea. My table is an 8', my room is 13'5" wide by 39' long. It's a little tight on the side rail shots but still works fine. a good rule is to allow 5' around the table edge but if you ask me, if the only way you can fit a table into a room is to shove it into a corner and do drills, then by all means do it. /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif

IMO you should measure from cushion nose to cushion nose and add 11 feet for a minimum room size. Your cues are 58" and you need 6"-8" for the backswing of the cue.
