Although I don't usually watch the trick shots much, these shows are the women doing the trick shots. I may have to watch, since it will be different than the usual cast a characters.

Im showing it as tonite by Yahoo's listings. Pool gets no respect and you really cant rely on a long term schedule and not too much on a short term one either. Time will tell.

lets hope that the BD calendar site is just out of date, ive allready seen the florida classic in reruns, might be fun to watch jeannette doing some trick shots.

Tomorrow night looks good, challenge of champions, should be some good table action.

I finally got to watch some billiard club tv over the weekend, Direct tv opened up some channels for a free weekend. They showed an awesome 10 ball ring game, don't know how old it was, but it was the first time ive seen it.

Is it possible the Florida Classic they are referring to is the one that got postponed and the trick shots are replacing it in that time slot?

I got a reminder from AZB and it showed the Florida Classic as being on but I am almost certain it listed a quarter-final match. In the Florida Classic that was postponed they were going to tape the quarter finals.

I am in agreement with Wally, I am pretty sure it was the event that was postponed. The dates do say 2004 Flordia Classic.

Does anyone know which ladies will be preforming the trick shots?

Yep Wally - now that you mention it, Im sure that is the case.
The Florida event is postponed til 12/1-5 and they are still planning on going with the new format, televising quarterfinals etc.

I just pulled up the directv schedule and it shows "billiards from baltimore" which should be the trick shot magic.

Of course i was pretty hung over sunday so who knows what i recorded. /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif

At the recent '04 U.S. Open, I got a chance to sit down and talk with Ming "The Empress" Ng. She was telling us about the women's trick shot exhibition that she participated in, held at the Mohegan Sun on August 13th, a sudden death competition with a purse of $35,000! /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Jeanette "The Black Widow" Lee won the event, and the other competitors were Hall of Famers Ewa "The Striking Viking" Laurance and Loree Jon Jones.

According to press release on the excellent WPBA website:

"The top Women Trick Shot Artists in the world will go head-to-head at the Mohegan Sun on August 13.

"The MOHEGAN SUN TRICK SHOT CHALLENGE will feature four international stars of the sport in sudden death competition for a purse of $35,000.

"Ewa Laurance, former world 9-Ball champion, was inducted into the BCA Hall of Fame in 2004. Jeanette Lee, the 2003 Champion of Champions, and Americaís Gold Medalist in the World Games. Loree Jon Jones, who holds virtually every title in the world, was inducted into the BCA Hall of Fame in 2002. Ming Ng, the WPBA Rookie of the Year, and two-time Scotch Doubles Champion...."

"...Mohegan Sun Casino, the host site, will make the 2004 event ADMISSION FREE to pool fans from around the USA and the world. There will be three playing sessions in the international tournament. On Friday, August 13, the two semifinals will be played at 4 PM and 5 PM and the final Championship match will be played at 7 PM. The semifinals and the final match will be taped for airing on ESPN...claiming the winnerís prize of $25,000...."

Ming is like a breath of fresh air, a very beautiful lady full of enthusiasm, and looks forward to participating in more events. She has a lot of personality (IMO), and I'm sure we will all be reading more about her in the future!

I got a picture of Ming, Keith, and Shannon Daulton, bottom left: 2004 U.S. Open-Picture of Ming on bottom left (http://www.hometown.aol.com/khmccready/2004usopen.html)
