View Full Version : Spyware Problem

I installed Spybot and found 28 hits recommended for removal. When I hit "fix the problem" tab, it wouldn't delete them. A box came up saying I was missing the wdengine.dll file. It suggested trying to re-install, but this didn't help. Most of the hits were tracking cookies, but I would still like to get rid of them. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Lock
WDENGINE.dll relates to a piece of software called Wild Tangent. This may be classed as spyware by Spybot and it is interfering in some way.
Maybe try seeing if you have Wild Tangent in your Add/Remove Programs list and uninstall it. Remove the Wild Tangent folder from your C:\Program Files and then reinstall Spybot.
Make sure that you have the most up-to-date version of Spybot too. www.safer-networking.org/en/mirrors/index.html (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/mirrors/index.html)

Thanks naz. Wild tangent was on the hit list. My wife is on her computer right now. I will let you know in case someone else has the same problem. Regards, Lock
