I often get a chance to submit articles to this monthly news paper.

This is the current issue's Hard Times Billiards (Sacramento CA) article.

I run the tournaments and you can see it keeps me busy. The best thing I have going for these tournaments is the players. You couldn't ask for a better bunch of regular players.

Tom, you seem to have settled in nicely at Hard times. I went to SF for the Pech. tour...but had to leave before the finals. I know Morro came in second, and either Tony or Amar won, with the other in third......heard there was some great "action" after the tournament. Felt bad for Chris...with the score 7/7, against Morro...Morro kicked at the 5, sunk it in the side pocket, then scratched. Chris had ball-in-hand, with only the 7,8,9 ....an easy out, to get on the hill. Instead, he spotted the 5, shot it...and lost. Actually in the hill/hill game, Chris missed a long back cut on the 7, which would have won the match...it's a shot he makes 9 out of 10.
Hey, that's neat, the way you linked the entire issue...hard to do?

Neat magazine!

Does anyone know if we have a similar magazine in the midwest illinois region? I would love to read more about local tournaments and local people!

Results of the Pechauer Stop#2 at Family Billiards in San Francisco. Results (http://www.azbilliards.com/2000storya.cfm?storynum=2196)

Afterwards Morro and Tony Chohan matched for some big time jelly beans in a 9ball race ahead to 11. Tony won rather easily.

Nice write-up...I should have remembered to check out AZB.
It's nice to see Delbert playing good again....before his hip replacement, he was in so much pain, he couldn't practice. I saw the match between Oscar and Lance, good pool. Johnny Warren surprises a lot of players. It's hard to choose a favorite between Amar and Tony....after reading your tournament results...why don't you just mail them the first place check to split, and let everybody else shoot for second?

Hi Tom,

I need to live in Sac with you. Nice article. Did you happen to notice on pg 18 that our very own poster ChrisW took off the Scotch Doubles at the Midwest Expo? Yep, another champion that I missed the chance to meet while there. Next time.. Great job Chris!

Regards,

C.C.~~wants to see Tom' name at some of those events. /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif

www.insideenglish.net (http://www.insideenglish.net) Provided Michigan information in a free magazine that can be picked up at most poolhalls for free. Their online version has been revamped, and looks like they have some work to do yet, but good mag either way.

www.mnbilliards.com (http://www.mnbilliards.com) Is a Minn style mag that I picked up while in Chicago. Had alot of local/regional information. You can download this magazine as well, in bits of 4 pages at a time...nov 04 1st 4 pages has some IL action...

Not sure about Illinois directly, but those are fairly close when regional tourneys happen...

EDIT: I just started reading the Nov download, and page 5 is a letter from the editor, and this magazine is now going to be a Midwest, with a larger area than the past. I guess this is their second issue...

"On the Break News" is on line (www.onthebreaknews.com)- you can check out the last 12 months of issues. Cheese and his wife, Mary, did a nice article about me in the September issue. They have also been very professional, up front, timely, helpful, and wrote a good ad for my advertising (page 11) They are good ambassadors and promoters for pool in the Northwest and West coast. We need more publications like theirs. Check it out.

Hi Angel,

There's a new one out or atleast new to me that's called the Midwest Billiards Mag. It has most of the midwest stuff in it.

Hey Angel (and long time no talk to, Tom in Cincy)

The folks here are right, after starting in Minnesota, we've expanded our publication to : MN, WI, IL, ND, SD, & IA.

This issue was 64 pages from across the region.

The current website, www.mwbilliards.com (http://www.mwbilliards.com) (note the "w", not the "n") will be expanded to have functionality like MNBilliards.com and more, so folks in the Midwest will also have a web site they can get tournament info from in around a seven state area.

By the way, Chris Cass, your son Spike is in this issue for his Midwest Open win.

If you would like more info on Midwest Billiards Magazine, drop me an email at kelly@mwbilliards.com.
