Another season of JPNEWT is over and Val Finnie is POY. Congrats Val!!

But!! At my last event, I got to meet landshark77 and hook up again with Rich R and wife, and Carol! Yeah, landshark77's a pup and a blonde. And, she's not a loser like her tag line says!! /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Also, we had a player from Trinidad - the British West Indies in the Caribbean - fly up to play!! Wow!! I'm used to the Japanese players coming around but she flew up here specifically for this event! I hope she comes around again!

And what is it with me having phone problems in Hagerstown and coming back only to get sick for two days? This happened LAST YEAR!!

BTW, CarolNYC came in 5/6th and is in second place to catch the invites to the WPBA events Val turns down!!

Barbara~~~sort of coming around now... /ccboard/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Shh! I don't want the word getting out that I'm not a loser. I won't have anymore excuses! It was nice meeting you, Barbara, and you, Rich R. and your wife. Sorry, Carol that we didn't get to chat it up. You kept playing pool, although I have met you a few times before at Valley Forge. The first time was in 2000 I believe. I think you were with Cheryl Harris. Oh, and I look younger than I am...sorry..I wish I were a pup. /ccboard/images/graemlins/frown.gif But true, I am a dumb blonde! /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Oh,cm'on now!You shoulda came up to me!I haven't seen Cheryl in soooo long-I hope she's well!
Okay,question-did you play the girl I just finished playing, who got upset because I wouldnt let her move a ball back? Two tables away from me? If so, I know who you are-wish you woulda came up to me-I think your funny /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I dont know if you seen what happenend, but, she's shooting-the 3,4,5 are centrally located for side shots, all she has to do is draw on the 3,follow 4 to rail and 5 in opposite side,BUT,what happens is, she draws on the 3 and HITS the 4 with her hand to the side rail-looks at me and says" I'll move that back!"-I look at the table and say "Play it where it lies"-now she becomes "Miss Thing" and gets all bent outta shape and says "Oh no, its my option to move the ball back" and I look at her with a kinda "I dont think so" expression"and shake my head "no" she stops the match,we walk 4 tables to where Barb is playing a match, interrupt her match for the ruling-turns out I was right-she's still bent, so, I tried to KINDLY explain to her, why you have to be careful NOT to move balls out of play!

She lost!
Anyways, I got to catch a flight-nice chatting with you and hopefully we'll meet up again!
Oh, and I love Cathy&Rich!
Take care all-talk to ya soon!

Hi Barbara,

It is always great seeing you and, as usual, you run a great tournament. But then, I guess you have a little experience at that. /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I'm sorry to hear you got sick and I hope you are on the mend.

Cathy and I never miss a chance to hang out with Carol and her family. It is always a pleasure. We had a blast. /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif

An added surprise was getting the chance to meet another CCB'er, Landshark77. I agree, she is definitely not a "loser". I hope nobody believes that tag line. /ccboard/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I just love spending time, watching good pool, with good friends, both old and new. /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I must extend my congrats to Val, but also to all the players on your tour. When you are doing what you love to do, you are all winners.

(I still have 2 events to go before I get to take my year end break. I'm kinda jealous!)

Carol,

I haven't seen Cheryl in a loooong time either. I think that year at VF was the last. I, too, hope she is well.

I am familiar with the match you speak of. I watched a bit of that match, but then had to go play. I had just started playing when your drama went down. I got the basic jest of what was going on, even though I was playing. You were playing on the table in front of me. Your table was turned sideways. Kelly Fisher was playing on the table next to me. I can not remember what your oppenent looked like, but after I won that match I played on the table that you had just finished on. The girl I played was short and had a blonde pony tail. She played w/o shoes. Not sure if this was your drama girl or not. This girl had to dip out early...so not sure if she ended up eventually losing or forfieting. I lost to her. /ccboard/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I am funny /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif but I do not know if I am who you thought I was. I have kinda short blonde hair. Shorter in the back than in the front. I was wearing sandals with socks...yeah, I'm one of "those" people! /ccboard/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Anywho, I will be a spectator in FL, so I will say hi there, promise. Oh, and good luck in OR. /ccboard/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Although I did not see last nights match yet, I taped it, there is a very strong possibility that you saw us on TV.
We were sitting behind Gabe Owen in the final round. /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yeah, the "Barefoot Contessa" had to forfeit her last match to go catch her step-daughter's football game. She was very upset she had to leave because she had actually won a couple of matches and that was a first for her. I thought she and her friend were very nice.

The reason why she was barefoot is that she had heard of the tourny the night before and didn't have any flat-heeled shoes and wore shoes with a 2 inch heel that started killing her during her first match. She asked me if she could go shoeless and initially I said no, but changed my mind and told her she could but if anyone started complaining about "it smelling like feet in here...", she'd have to put them back on. /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Barbara~~~sometimes it can be fun to be the TD...

Hope you feel better especially for next week at Atlantic City. If you get any free time(right...) check in any casinos where they play horses or keno and you might find some loser tickets. I'll be going to the track soon. I'll let you know.

DG - I was so ugly as a baby my mother put a piece of meat around my neck to get the dog to play with me. I didn't get any better as time went on.lol
