Ten-Year-Old Grilled Cheese Sandwich Is Back On E-Bay

E-Bay pulled the grilled cheese image of the Virgin Mary from its Web site, but reversed its decision Tuesday and put the 10-year-old sandwich back on the auction block.

Bids reached nearly $100,000 within hours after the sandwich was relisted.

Sandwich owner Diana Duyser says she spotted the image after she'd taken a bite out of the sandwich and saw the face staring back at her.

She put the sandwich up for sale last week and drew bids of as much as $22,000.

The page was viewed almost 100,000 times before it was taken down.

The page showed almost 200,000 views within hours of its return to the Web site.

Looks more like Bette Davis or Jean Harlowe (sp?)to me. /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I wonder if they have the occasional sandwich with Moses' face on it at my favorite Jewish deli (Harold's)? It already is miraculous if you can finish off one of their sandwiches since they are big enough to feed a family of four! Oy-vay! /ccboard/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Well if they want to believe it's Virgin Mary fine. Grilling or toasting always takes on different textures. People have got to be nuts or money than sense.

BTW, it says standard flat rate shipping and insurance of $.055. Think any of that will change. Will this person pay for shipping? ha ha ha
