Whats the difference between the 314 and the Z shaft?

You don't need it. It's a stronger billiard type taper with a smaller tip. I doubt many would even like the taper. Play billiards, ok, but IMO few pool players would like it.

Pretty much what has been said already. It has what predator calls a Euro taper versu the traditional pro taper that most players are used to. The tip is 11.75mm i believe. I have a friend who love his but i'll take a standard 314 anyday.
Thanks folks. Don't know why I couldn't find that comparison on the Predator site when I looked.... /ccboard/images/graemlins/tongue.gif I'll probably stick with my South West anyway. I don't find a lot of squirt with it. Some of course but not a lot.
