View Full Version : Geting a new monitor?

My monitor blew up yesterday. It sounded like a fire cracker and smoke came poring out of it. I went out today looking for a new monitor and was amazed at some of the deals. I can get a 17 inch for $69.00 and a 19 inch for $99.00. My old one was a small 15 inch so anything bigger looks good to me. I am wondering if there is any draw back to the bigger one (19 inch)? I want it but don't want to be sorry later. Any info is appreciated. Thanks
The biggest disadvantage I can think of is size. A 19" CRT takes up a fair amount of room, plus they are heavy. I went larger once and the table I used started to sag.
You might want to look for some deals on a flat screen, there is some good deals out there. A 19" crt screen is only slightly larger than a 17" flat screen. The foot print, weight, etc is a lot less on a 17".
If your going to stick with the crt type it won't make any difference. With a flat screen it's fairly important to have a good video card.
