THE ACTUAL SKIT ITSELF (http://mknx.com/v/cowbell.wmv)

skit transcript (http://snltranscripts.jt.org/99/99pcowbell.phtml)

P.S. for those not Wally: The quote is from a SNL skit where Chris Walken plays the band producer for Blue Oyster Cult recording Don't Fear The Reaper (one of the top 10 songs of all time), and says things like "I gotta have more cowbell, baby!" and "I got a fever! And the only prescription.. is more cowbell!"

The Rolling Stones, "Honky Tonk Women"

Grand Funk Railroad, "We're an American Band"

These were the only 2 that sprang to mind. As a former drummer that played them both how could I forget? LOL

I saw an "I need more cowbell" reference at AZB and another on my Wishbone Ash forum in the space of 2 days so I thought it was an omen.

Thanks /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I have the 'Best of Will Ferrel' DVD from SNL, that is by far one of the funniest skits I've ever seen. Chris Walken is my favorite SNL host also, him and Ferrel were hilarious together in alot of skits.

Mountain is close but don't forget "Time Has Come Today" by the Chambers Brothers. Cowbell from beginning to end.

DG - great tune
