I saw Jude's prototype for the less expensive model of his Shaftmaster in November. Since then, he's made improvements and has developed a small and affordable solution for tip, shaft and even ferrule work. Check it out:
Shaftmaster Deux (http://cgi.aol.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=21212&item=7131144 684&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW)

Variable speed motor, foot switch, chuck and self centering crutch tip (he's including both!)For $399 it looks like a winner!
Regards,
Rip

I'm not affiliated with Shaftmaster in any way shape or form. I do admit to being a huge googan and tip whore.
