Any idea what the record is? I made 5 balls on the break in 9 ball and thats my personal best. Im sure its no record but I was pretty happy when I did it. If you have any better than 5 on the break, post it and let me know if you finished the run and the situation. I did run the 4 balls out for the run on mine /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif. Love playing 4 ball /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif.

As for 8 ball. I go 4 stripes and a solid on the break which is my personal best. I did end up going with stripes and I did run it out. I am sure 4 stripes is pretty average, Anyone ever get all 7 and then shoot the 8 ball right in. Let the fish stories begin! Please be trueful and if you didn't get all 9 balls on the break then don't post it.
On the snap vincent.

Christoper....make up your mind, dude! /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif First you say:

"If you have any better than 5 on the break, post it and let me know if you finished the run and the situation."

Then you say:

"Please be trueful and if you didn't get all 9 balls on the break then don't post it."

I've done 5 balls in 9 ball but got hooked and couldn't see the ball. I ended up having to kick at it and lost the game. I made 5 in 8 ball twice and have finished the run. One time it was 4 solids and a stripe and I had to take the stripes due to not being able to break open a cluster.

I have broken in 5 balls in 9-ball a few times...to tell you the truth I can't remember if I ran out from there or not, though. Weekend before last in a tournament, I broke in 4 balls and was hooked, kicked into a safety and got ball-in-hand and ran out.

A few years ago I was playing in a tournament (race to 6) and broke the 9-ball in 3 times in a row (first 3 racks), then broke and ran out the 4th rack and my opponent went BALLISTIC. He threw his cue across the room like a javelin and walked out in the parking lot. Luckily the cue didn't hit anyone, but it hit a table where another player was about to break a rack and caused quite a commotion. My opponent then walked back in and picked up his cue and unscrewed it, shook my hand and walked out again and left.

9 ball- made 6, including the cueball. opponent had 4 balls wide open with ball in hand. Needless to say, I lost.

Most on 8 ball break - 7 - mixed, ran out on solids and made the 8. The following week my brother-in-law made 7 including the 8 in a non BCA tournament.

Chris, If you did happen to sink all of one group on the break and then shoot the eight, it would be a loss. For a player to claim a group, They have to legally pocket one of those balls. If you did sink all of one group you still have to make 8 more balls to win.

Depending on what rules you play by Fast eddie. If you play bar room rules, usually you are what you sink. I think APA may be you are what you sink also. I never played in an APA League, I only played in a TAP 8 ball league and that was open after break. Thanks for the comment though. It is something to think about. If you made 7 balls on the break, It would be pretty easy to run the table any way with none of your opponents interferring balls. As long as there are no clusters.
If I sink all 7 balls on break and then make a stripe for example, and then miss my next ball and leave an open 8 ball shot. Can my opponent legally pocket the 8 ball even though they did not sink one of they're balls.

Andy Bakerian playing in a poolroom in Downtown Troy,N,Y
put all nineballs in on the break, he put 7 out of 9 twice.
He hadn't played pool for years and came into the room I was managing and I had him give me a breaking demo.

He was 5ft5, 120 lbs and when he hit the balls it was as if a bomb went off. It took him ten minutes to limber up his
hands then he gave me a three hour lesson. The least balls he put in was 2 and the highest was 6 balls.####

Gerald, the ice down there is getting to you.
I think he means don't lie about it, if you didn't make all
nine on the break.
Hey, great city, Atlanta.....I was on the DeKalb county FD, but lived near Piedmont Park in Atlanta. Funny thing was I woke up one night when the Atlanta FD kicked in my door, while responding to a mattress fire upstairs.
It's always exciting down there...esp. when the weather hits, and folks ain't used to driving on ice.
Hey, maybe a good thing I left......I kept following the links and......
On his first day at work, the new sheriff of Clayton County called 27 employees into his office on Monday, fired them and had snipers stand guard on the roof as they were escorted out the door.

Sheriff's department snipers stood guard on the rood of the jail as the fired workers were escorted out. Because they were no longer allowed to use their county cars, some former deputies were driven home in vans normally used to transport prisoners.

Hill, who also is keeping armed guards to protect him and his home, defended the tactics. He cited the assassination four years ago of DeKalb County Sheriff Derwin Brown, another black sheriff who vowed to root out corruption.
I remember the Sheriff Brown murder...didn't realise it was there.

Yeah, that new Sheriff has a screw or three loose.

I knew what he meant, about the number of balls on the break...I was just kidding him. /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif I posted a serious answer after that.

That would be amazing to see. And would love to make 6 or 7 on the break myself someday. Thanks for the info.

I wonder if playing the fastest cloth possible and new rails would help to get more balls on the break. Say you played on the slate itself and no cloth, 9 on break would be breeze right /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif.

On the snap vincent.

I have made 7 mixed balls in 8-ball. Didn't run out. I have made 6 balls in 9-ball on three occassions. Had no shot twice, and no chance at the last two the other.

Not me, but against me. An opponent once made 6 stripes and 1 solid, he had to take solids and ran out. So he made 14 balls to win a game of 8-ball.

To change games on you, my opponent (Doug the Destroyer) in a one pocket match had a cluster shot where there was a dead combo that had to be hit pretty hard to make the ball and ended up making 3 balls in his pocket and one in mine on one shot. Although it wasn't a break shot, it was pretty amazing. I can set something similar up the WEI table too. Seen 5 on the break in 9 a couple of times and seen the 1, 2 and 3 fall (all corner balls fall) in rotation. Seen 3 made a few times made on a straight pool break. Seen all of them drop on a three ball break.
