Ok guys, I going to get the nine-foot pro by Brunswick. It's a reconditioned Gold Crown 3. This very well known company{name withheld by request}where I live will refinish the cabinet, new rubber all around, 3 piece 1 inch slate bed, brand new gold crown pockets and simonis 860 for the field. He want's 4300 for the package. I've seen prints of some of the in-house tables he's installed and they look great. Iv'e got my own experienced tech. man to oversee the install. Weigh in for me and tell me what you think? Is this to much?

I think that is a terrible deal. You can buy GC3's all day long for $1500. Balls, rubber, pockets, and Simonis can be had for less than $500.

I don't know what a refinished cabinet is worth to you but it is easy to do yourself. Most GC3's I see don't reall need refinishing.

I would not spend more than $2000 on a Gold Crown. The last one I purchased ran me a total of $1100 (give or take) I purchased the GC1 for $700, Simonis 860 for $175, Cushions for $80, Pockets for $40, Super Aramith Pros for $90, and some misc stuff like new hardware, feather strips, pocket facings, shims, joint compound...

I repainted it myself (GC1's were painted, not stained) for about $30

Hope that helps you decide the value. Look on Ebay for Gold Crowns (http://search.ebay.com/gold-crown_Billiards_W0QQsofocusZbsQQsbrftogZ1QQfclZ3QQ catrefZC12QQfrppZ50QQfromZR10QQsacatZ21209QQcatref ZC6QQftrtZ1QQftrvZ1QQsadisZ200QQfposZ85382QQfsopZ1 QQfsooZ1QQcoactionZcompareQQcopagenumZ1QQcoentrypa geZsearch) to get a feel for price..

The MOST I would pay for a used GC3 including set-up and Simonis 860 is about $2,500.00 or so if it's in excellent shape. That's $2,000.00 for the table and another $500.00 to cover the setup and the cloth....and that includes the return trip to relevel the table that is going to be necessary after a couple of months.

It's too much and you're talking a table with drop pockets. Dealers bought GC3's (with ball returns) for $3000 new and got one free table with every 10 ordered. Keep looking there are lots of good tables available at fair prices.

The owner of my home room has a GC-3 in his garage partially dismantled. I think he would take about $1800 for it but you'd have to move it, re-finish it and cover it with new cloth.

That's way over priced. I paid $1,300.00 for a GC3. That included new 860, new Superspeed rubber and a set of Centennials. And I bought it from a room in Manhattan. And it plays real nice. (I did pay 250 for the set up and rubber install).
