Sil-Kleen or Q-Clean?

which is better? any opinions?

both work fine

I don't use anything abrasive on my shafts. Over time (and it won't take much time, if you play every day), an abrasive cleaner will wear the shaft down.

I play with a Congnoscenti. Joe Gold himself told me on the phone to just use alcohol (isopropyl, or "rubbing" alcohol) to clean the shafts. I do so regularly, and get great results. No shaft wear occurs.

BTW...if you are going to use rubbing alcohol to clean the shafts, make sure it is almost pure (usually 99%) alcohol. Some brands are only about 70% alcohol, with the rest being water.

does sil-kelln leave the wood rough or not? also is the same with q-clean, too?
